Back in 1976 I was adopted from Seoul, South Korea to an amazing family in Oklahoma. I was loved very much and I even had a new adopted sister. I never really thought much, except the occasional “I wonder where my parents are now?”
Just over 1 year ago, I decided to find my biological family. Then it happened. A letter and photos arrived. I had siblings – 1 brother and 5 sisters who were still wondering where I was. Unfortunately, my biological parents have passed away.
My mother’s last wish was to find me, but to my families dismay the adoption was closed and they didn’t have any information of where I was. This was just one of the many reasons they were so excited when my first letter arrived. They all wanted to meet me, and coincidentally my youngest sibling was coming to Los Angeles this year. So we coordinated through emails and set up a time. It was amazing speaking to her through a translator and finding more about my past. The feelings I had and still have are continually changing and developing for this new family that in a way, came out of nowhere. I hope to visit the rest of the family next year and hope that this good story will inspire others to search as well.

However, I found 6 siblings, all wondering where I was.
