Nick Wheeler and Aimee Maiden were going through a family photo album at Nick’s grandparents’ house a few weeks before their wedding. They came across an old photo childhood photo of Nick where he is sitting in a big sand boat smiling at the camera. In the background, just a few feet away...guess who is also playing in the sand.
That’s right, his fiancé, Aimee!
She was just a little girl playing at the beach with her family, building sand castles, not knowing that the love of her life was playing in the sand 10 feet away.
This photo was taken in 1994 in Mousehole, Cornwall, UK, where Aimee grew up. She and her family were regular visitors to this beach, while Nick and his parents lived 300 miles away, in Kent, and just happened to be visiting for vacation.
If somebody came up to them that very day and told the two youngsters that they would someday be married to one another, they would have called him crazy. Two decades later, it really happened.
That's what we call "meant to be!"
