The love story of two artists, Marina Abramović and Uwe Laysiepen, started back in 1976 in Amsterdam. After 8 years their relationship started falling apart, so they went to opposite ends of the Great Wall of China and walked towards each other. When their paths met, they embraced for the last time and went their separate ways to never meet again.
More than 30 years later, Marina held a life performance at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She shared a moment of silence with anyone who would sit in front of her. This performance lasted for 716 hours, and Marina looked into the eyes of 1,500 strangers in total.
But it all became worth it when at one point during those endless hours she looked up and met the eyes of one very special someone — the man whom she hadn’t seen for 30 years.
