Three years ago, then-6-year-old Christian McPhilamy decided to grow his hair long. He was teased at school and often mistaken for a girl, but it didn’t make him change his mind. That’s because he had a very special goal — to donate his 10-inch-long locks to make wigs for children who are being treated for cancer.
Christian was inspired by a children’s research hospital’s advertisement he saw on TV.
He endured 2.5 years of bullying, but never gave up his very special project.
Even adults tried to encourage him to get a haircut...But most of them apologized after learning about his mission.
After 2.5 years, his parents cut off his hair in four, 10-inch ponytails and donated them to the cause.
This brave little boy is an inspiration and an example for all of us!
